Celebrating Volunteers
with Belleville Citoyenne
Belleville Citoyenne is a Paris-based nonprofit working at the intersection of arts, digital inclusion and professional development, particularly with young people from underserved neighbourhoods.
The evening brought together long-time volunteers and newcomers to celebrate volunteering, solidarity and collective engagement. Through candid moments and encounters, this series documents the people and connections behind the organisation, and the sense of community that makes its work possible.
A note of support
After 16 years of community work in Belleville, the organisation has faced a severe financial crisis, despite reducing its activities and operating costs in an effort to keep going. The situation ultimately led Belleville Citoyenne to announce the end of its activities in 2026.
Its closure also raises broader questions about the financial fragility of grassroots organisations and the challenges they face in sustaining long-term work within their communities.
All my support goes to the team, volunteers and community who have built, sustained and brought Belleville Citoyenne to life over the years.
