A Common Ground
An analog black-and-white photography project documenting the daily life of multicultural open-air markets in La Courneuve and Barbès. Shot on Kodak Tri-X 400 film, the series explores these bustling commercial spaces as rare sites of genuine cross-cultural encounter, where vendors and customers from across the world negotiate, laugh, argue, and coexist in the ordinary rhythm of everyday life. In a city often marked by social and geographic segregation, the market becomes a space where difference is not an exception but the norm.
