In Kesobpur, a rural village in northern Bangladesh, accessing healthcare can mean navigating costs that extend far beyond the consultation itself. Transportation, diagnostic tests and medication can all stand between a patient and the care they need.

In July 2026, Health Outreach International organised a free medical outreach clinic at Kesobpur Government Primary School. Around 30 patients, primarily women over 50, were seen by a volunteer medical team. When further investigation was required, the organisation covered diagnostic testing and the prescribed treatment that followed.

The mission was designed around a simple principle: access to a doctor means little if a patient cannot afford what comes next. From consultation to diagnosis and medication, the aim was to make it possible for patients to complete the full care pathway.

This series documents that day: the waiting, the consultations, the gestures of care, and the people for whom a temporary classroom became a place to seek medical attention.
